Holiday Spirit

by The Professor on December 7, 2009

2009 has gone by in a flash and 2010 is less than a month away, and if you are like me, then you can’t believe it. I’ve often told people of my theory that time goes by faster with each passing year and soon it will feel like the year’s gone by in a month, and who knows,  maybe it will. Christmas is only a few short weeks away and already I can feel the tension from the people that surround me. 2009 was not an easy year for many and I know that many people wish they could delay Christmas or skip it all together, and trust me, I understand. But maybe we should take this opportunity to remind ourselves of what Christmas Spirit really is. It’s not the act of giving someone gifts and getting a gift of equal value back, if everyone was going to do that, then they could just save their money or buy what they wanted anyways. We need to take time to value what we hold close to us and show the people that we love how much we care about them by spending time with them. We often forget that life itself is short and it is important to share moments with our friends and family. Everyone knows this year has been rough, so people will understand if gifts can’t be given, the best gift you can give is your presence, your support, and your love. Be thankful for what good things you do have in your life and try to keep your held high through this holiday season. Merry Christmas!!

Remember to be Thankful

by The Professor on November 15, 2009

Here we are approaching the holidays yet again, and most of us are so busy stressing out about the expenses of them, that we forget what is supposed to be important. The holidays are the time of year when we get to see all of our family and friends that we love to see, and a few that we don’t. We often dread the travel and the hassle of figuring out where to go and who not to leave out. This Thanksgiving I want everyone to remember what they are thankful for. I realize that this year has not been an easy one for many, but remember that there is always something or someone to be thankful for, besides,  someone out there has it worse than you.  Theodore Roosevelt once said, “Let us remember that, as much has been given us, much will be expected from us, and that true homage comes from the heart as well as from the lips, and shows itself in deeds.” This Thanksgiving prove your holiday spirit with actions from your heart and give back to those in need this holiday season.

Your attitude is contagious – Spread a Positive one!

by The Professor on November 7, 2009

I was at my kids’ school yesterday and there was a poster up in their room. I took a picture up, check it out:

contagious

What type of attitude are you spreading to peeople? It is a positive one? A negative one? Attitude is everything and you will be a product of it, so be careful what you spread! On the reverse, be careful what you catch from someone. If you are constantly associating yourself with people with negative attitudes, it will have a negative effect on you.

Be Unreasonable – Great Book by Paul Lemberg

by The Professor on November 1, 2009

I jus got done reading Paul Lemberg’s “Be Unreasonable”. What a great book. I give my firm recommendation to anyone that thinks something needs to change in their personal or business career.

He points out many misconceptions in that being un-reasonble is the only way to be reasonable. You have to get outside your comfort zone, expect everything that it is you want and take unreasonable steps toward your goals.

Every once in a while you need to “control+alt+delete” your life. Life is too short to worry about failure and living a normal mediocre life.

You can go and get the book on Amazon Now: Be Unreasonable: The Unconventional Way to Extraordinary Business Results

You are successful when you decide to work toward a goal

by The Professor on October 21, 2009

A great quote from an amazing motivational author on goals:

“The moment you decide on a goal to work toward, you’re immediately a successful person. You are then in that rare and successful category of people who know where they’re going. Out of every hundred people, you belong in the top five. Don’t concern yourself too much with how you are going to achieve your goal-leave that to a power greater than yourself. All you have to do is know where you’re going. The answers will come to you of their own accord, and at the right time.”
