The Fine Line between Success and Failure

by Danny DeMichele on August 3, 2009

One of the most inspirational stories on how close the line between success and failure was from of the best books ever on the topic, Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill.

In the story, there was a gold miner back in the gold rush who bought land that he knew in his gut had a lot of gold in it. He was there for years digging away with a pick ax. Although he came up with some small quantities here and there, in his eyes, just was not worth continuing on, so he stuck his pick into the ground, walked away and sold the lot for a rock bottom price.

A month later, the new owner of the lot decided to start prospecting where the previous owner left off. Not a day goes by and the new owner, just 3 feet from where the previous owner left off, discovered the largest gold mine in the San Francisco area.

This happens more than most people think. Don’t give up, stay passionate, work hard and you will see success beyond your wildest dreams. Staying positive in tough times is hard, but more often than not, your biggest low point is quickly followed up by major high points. “It is always darkest before the dawn”.
